| Orientation
All volunteers are personally collected
from Cape Town Airport or Cape Town City
and transferred to Chill and Surf backpackers,
located 5 min from your project in the beautiful
South Peninsula. Once you have settled in to your
accommodation we will give you an orientation
to ensure you are feeling comfortable in your
environment.
The orientation is informal and consists
of ‘pointers’ on how to keep
yourself out of trouble, info about the area,
detailed information on your project and what
activities, restaurants, doctors, transport, etc
are available to you in the area, and to answer
any questions you may have.
We will then introduce you to your project that
you will be working on, outlining who you will
be working with, what you can expect to be doing,
contact persons, location and other information
related to the project.
In the evening you will be treated to
a South African speciality BBQ, or braai as you
will learn we call it, and a chance to kick back
and meet the other volunteers on the trip,
as you will be in close habitation with them for
the next month – a very exiting month!
The orientation is to ensure you feel
comfortable and safe at all times–
the rest is then up to you to enjoy and get involved
with, however, we will always be available to
help you with any challenges you may encounter.
The same Orientation procedure will also be done
on arrival in Jeffrey's Bay and Transkei.
WELCOME & ENJOY
